Back again

Hello to all who still read this blog. Who would have thought this blog was going to be needed again. Thanks to my sister for keeping everybody informed. This time around has been a little different with access to computers and phones being limited. Currently we live and base our missions out of an abondoned building. The idea is to get closer to the people and be able to interact with the neighborhood. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. This is a picture of the banner dad sent me from one of the american legions in ks.

SPOKE WITH CHRIS

Chris called shortly after 9 pm tonight. He's been moving around to different places. They are currently living in what is left of a mall with plenty of bugs and rats and no electricity. It's over 112 degrees during the day and haven't had access to phones or computers for awhile. They have to make food runs to another area so they have something to eat. He said he's met some Philippinos there that are working over there because of the money they can make.

Thanks for the phone call Chris, at least I know you're alright. I'll keep praying for you.

Love you alot, Mom

CALL FROM CHRIS

Chris called last night at 1130 pm, 1030 am in Iraq. He's missing home and his grandpa. I guess he's caught up in a stop loss for the Army and won't be getting out on time this January. He didn't pass on his address, I guess he's not sure what it is yet. He said he would email the address soon. He' s also planning on blogging again this time. Not sure if it will be this blog or if the Army has an approved site.

Thank you Chris for the phonecall. At least I know you're all right.

Missing you, Mom

Articles about Chris Unit

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe these articles are about Chris' unit (assuming he is in the 2nd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division). Also, you may notice some new links in the right hand column, which I added for those of you who are news junkies.

Departure from Fort Stewart:

Arrival in Kuwait: http://www.blackanthem.com/News/U_S_Military_19/Kuwait_Training_Village_provides_Soldiers_vital_training_before_crossing_the_berm6696.shtml

I'll keep this blog updated as much as I can. On a side note, I just realized Chris isn't an SPC anymore.

Catching a Rest Period in a Sand Storm

It's good to see Chris is still laid back. Even a sand storm doesn't seem to bother him. Just lay back and take it easy. Maybe he should stay a little more alert just in case.

Chris labeled this one "Welcome to the Machine" on his myspace site. You can hardly tell the sand from the sky.
