Hello Everybody
Ill be starting the trip home tomorrow night. After a couple stops here and there I should be in KC by Sunday. I haven't began packing but there is really not that much to take with me. An extra pair of clothes and a hygiene kit is all that I need for the 2 days it takes to get home. Ill probably be staying the night in Kuwait and then having a stop over in Ireland. After that the final leg should be taking me to Kansas. In the local news voting is going to take place on the 15th of Oct for the ratification of the new constitution. If that gets passed then the national elections will be conducted in December. The polling sites are now being prepared for the increase in security needed around voting time. Nothing could be more attractive to suicide bombers than a long line of people waiting to vote on the new constitution. Voting should take place on the telephone or the internet. Instead Iraqis have to be bold enough to go to the polling site and stand in line. Talk about your low turnouts. Well Ill be on vacation for the next couple weeks. Ill post some pictures of the civilian world when I get back.

Nothing much worth writing about has happened over here. Its hard to post when the tempo is slow. I’ve been catching glimpses of the news on the television. It seems there is a big mess in the south and gas prices among the least of things to worry about is rising. I’ve joked about buying a moped when I move back to Georgia but now it is not sounding like such a bad idea. The weather here has definitely cooled down from what is was reaching up to earlier. I’m thinking in another month it will probably be comfortable. The web logs of soldiers in Iraq have raised some controversy over operational security. The pictures and journals have supposedly caused some concern in whether or not it should be viewed online by all. I’m not sure if mine has been reviewed for security offenses but it would be a shame to shut it down. If there were violations I would hopefully just have to delete a few posts. Ed and Evelyn sent a box of goods that I received yesterday. It contained among other things a grip of snicker doodles and oatmeal raisin walnut cookies. I almost ate them all in one sitting but also shared with anyone in close proximity. Everything was much appreciated especially the clippers. Thank you so much for taking the time to get that to me.
